New Vistas The sea attacks the cliffs with tides, That soon erode their weathered sides. Without remorse, it wears away The stones and agate, quartz and clay. Eventually, they fall to land Upon the ever shifting sand, That grinds together the great mass And slowly as the seasons pass, What once was cliff, becomes a pile Of sand and gravel, after while. The dunes, advancing steadily, Covering up what used to be, Present new vistas and we know We face an unrelenting foe. The sea will always rearrange. A constant, in a world of change! How true this is. Once again you have painted a picture with your words. Liked very much. |

SPIRIT: Thanks! I had this really brought home to me, when I visited some beaches last year, I hadn't been to, for 30 years or so. There were major changes! Betty Lou Hebert [This message has been edited by Trillium (04-23-2003 10:26 PM).] |
