What do you say 4/13/03 What do you say to people who are willing to give up their lives for you? A thank you doesn’t seem nearly enough. I mean, they don’t even know you, but they are fighting. Why are they doing this? For themselves, strangers, for their country. Doing this to make everyone proud, safe, and happy. And what about the protesters, don’t they understand? That some of these people, soldiers, want to do this? Do they know that they are diminishing their moral? How do you explain to these soldiers? What do you say to these young, brave men and women? People, like you and me, who are out there risking their lives. No, they aren’t like you and me, They are out there, they are doing something about it. They are brave, braver than you and I will ever be. They look death right in the eye. Some are scared, but they still do the job. Others say bring it on. So what do you say? This is very well penned. Very nicely done - thank you for posting this tribute to those brave and loyal men and women out there. Like you so aptly state Thank You appears very inadequate, but I for one certainly do thank them. |
