(AN: The muse is the same as before. Ironic now that my best works come from emotional agony. The poem to My Lili Marlene should be read first before reading this.)

Beauty of the Lantern Light

The lantern along the brick walk.
It glows as we travel and talk.
I've walked to class with you many a time.
Love hath no reason or rhyme.

December, the month my heart opened to love again.
Moving past the fear of rejection and pain.
The lantern of the brick walk would glow.
As during our spring semester my love did grow.

The light reflected in dazzling array.
Your smile could light a dark room bright as day.
Alas and alack, my love for you was not returned.
My heart, cast into the abyss and burned.

December the month I fell in love with a wonder.
The next September, my heart went under.
You'll always be the beauty of lantern light.
To you I'm friendly, funny, and unfailingly polite.

You are beautiful inside as well as outside.
Through what cruel and unforgiving fateful tide,
Did I warrant being made to suffer this way?
I remember everything about that day.

You asked if I'd ever met your boyfriend.
I distinctly felt my world come to an end.
I was a prisoner and your friendship set me free.
The beauty of the lantern light you'll forever be.

I'll wait for love for eternities unsaid.
If not from you, I'll rest my weary head.
I'll be there for you, thick and thin.
On my sufferings I'll throw on them a spin.

I feel like I've lost a chunk of my soul.
All that remains is but a tiny dark hole.
I still see your lovely smile by the lantern light.
Though your love is never in my sight.

I'll content myself with retaining your friendship.
Though down memory lane my heart will take a trip.
Fishing up memories of the red brick walk.
Where we would often stop and have a little talk.

I know what it's like to know no one else can take their place, and who would want someone to. No one can be what and who they are. Maybe you will find, someday, yourself searching because though it may not be them to be there..there comes a time when empty is too much to bare. Ihope you can find that place where it's peaceful to even think about finding another, because the truth is we don't want that special, only true one, to forget us. That special ones light will never die..it will always be there to guide you in the times of doubt on your path.
Love,
Terri~

(big hugggssssssss) Whatever happens, always hold her true to your heart as the lantern light on the street corner, and whenever you may feel alone, always spin around that post with the umbrella in your hand in the rain and know she wishes you great happiness and you will always be a friend in her heart! (sigh) I send angel comfort hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Carl, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
