The dogs of war are baying for blood Rumsfeld, Cheney, Powell and Bush These so-called Christians Are turning to spit on the face of God Thou shalt not kill the good book says Love thy neighbour as thyself But these four heartless fools have shown they simply could care less They talk as cowards kept safe always do Strong hard words spoken behind a door Well let them walk to the battle ground and swim through tides of innocent blood Let them take a front line spot And watch as bodies are blown apart Will all the oil of the world compensate For these four men so filled with hate? When children lie face down in bloody sand And old men's hearts are torn and shattered When the women scream with tortured cries Will these four stand with moistened eyes? They will stand and crow about success Without shame or grief or pity The dead shadows will be all around The black death of wasted cities These dogs of war are worse than foes They walk now where the devil goes They stink of hatred and ambition All they deserve is our derision Now they stand and tell bare-faced lies A finger to the Heaven they despise Now is the time for us to arise and tell They have lost their very souls to Hell |

allan - well, you certainly do not mince words. I too, hate the thought of war, and am frightened by it. I would not want to walk even a few steps in these "higher ups" shoes. I pray for all of us and that includes all of "them." Well written point of view. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

I can't say as I agree with your point of view, but you presented it well. [This message has been edited by WhiteRose (02-08-2003 07:56 PM).] |

I certainly do not envy these "dogs". And they say barking dogs do not bite - but these four do. Right decision or not, there will be suffering. You've painted the situation we're in so very lucidly. |

wow....this was extermely.....in your face..and i enjoyed very much. the poem was very powerful and had a sense of truth that was lurking beneath, whatever the outcome... it has been decided that the world shall suffer and the world shall regret when it comes time to pay the consquence Regina "heaven truley knows that thou art false as hell...one that loved not wisely, but too well..she swore..'twas a strange ,'twas passing strange"-othello |

Thank you everybody, as you will have noticed I have not attempted a balanced picture here! ![]() Let's all hit the streets running this coming Saturday (Feb 15th) for the Peace Day demos. Bush wants to bring peace by killing a mass of people and traumatising the rest. 'War is Peace'(!) - didn't I read that in some book somewhere...? ![]() [This message has been edited by allan (02-10-2003 07:18 PM).] |

See men shredded, then say you don't back war By Ann Clwyd March 18, 2003 Times Online “There was a machine designed for shredding plastic. Men were dropped into it and we were again made to watch. Sometimes they went in head first and died quickly. Sometimes they went in feet first and died screaming. It was horrible. I saw 30 people die like this. Their remains would be placed in plastic bags and we were told they would be used as fish food . . . on one occasion, I saw Qusay [President Saddam Hussein’s youngest son] personally supervise these murders.” This is one of the many witness statements that were taken by researchers from Indict —the organisation I chair — to provide evidence for legal cases against specific Iraqi individuals for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. This account was taken in the past two weeks. |

TexUS - Saddam hussein is a monster, there is absolutely no question of this. But the US uses such men when it is convenient and destroys them when they are not. This is worse than hypocrisy. |

well, that comment reminds me of when I had a pitbull puppy...we got along fine until he got really out of control and unpredictable, then I had to put him down before he really hurt someone. When he got to be grown and powerful enough, he tried to attack a child...no injury, but the threat was always there. I could not risk having an innocent child's blood on my hands, now could I? He could not be trusted around any human being. Some dogs are just bred evil, I guess. |

The CIA reportedly assisted Saddam in eliminating people within the government to allow him to take power from that left-leaning government. They apparently supplied him with the lists of victims. Just as the kids dying now ripped apart by American might are no less dead than the kids who died at the hands of Hussein at Halabja - these politicians were also victims and had families. America is no less corrupt than Saddam - it only puts a hypocritical veneer of respectibility over their crimes. |

that is your opinion until you have fact to back it up...harsh allegations for which you have no concrete backing would be called "rumors" or even "blatant lies". |
