Dear Lost Love,

It is late here
And all is quiet
But for the chimes outside my window
Dancing in the dark
I watch the flickering of a candle
It keeps the room aglow
Through the blinds I see the moon
It too is all alone
But shines so very bright
I have wrapped some gifts for you
Yes I know we're no longer one
But these are some things
I really wanted you to have
Little treasures to possess
To call your very own
At the end of the couch
Sits a beautiful big box
It's covered in shiny paper
Wrapped with a scarlet silk bow
Inside this box is the hope of new love
Something I trust you'll find
As time goes on
Standing by itself in the corner
Is a box full of joy
I could barely close the lid
And I pray it overtakes you
Please let it foerver flow
Sitting on my lap
Is a very delicate box
It is filled with something special
I give this gift to you
But only you can embrace it
This is a gift that shall never stop giving
It is the gift of happiness
I give to you
Throw away the guilt now
Let it all go
Say goodbye to pain and sorrow
For I know your heart
Aches as badly as my own
But I want to think of you
Smiling and happy again
I want to know you've carried on
So please accept these gifts
For they're now all I have to give
Remember the heart from
Which they came
With candle in hand now
I shall whisper farewell lost love
As I quietly blow out the flame.
