Your needs have preference over mine, Of that I'm well aware. I've fed you more than you can eat. Why is it that you dare To slap at me and cry so loud In that annoying tone? Since you have had your own good food, Why can't I have my own? "Tis always thus, you want outside And then you want back in. It matters not if I'm involved; You know you always win. I'm sure you only wanted out To steal dear Blackie's cream. I dared to close the door and so, You stand out there and scream. You look at me with that sweet face, But I know what you're thinking. You are not fooling me a bit With all of your hoodwinking. You're pleading in a softer voice, You're ready for a nap. You're asking me to settle down And offer you lap. I fear that you will wear me down, Give in to your demands. The world does not revolve around A cat and her commands. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt, If I just sat a spell. While I am resting, 'twould be fine To snuggle you as well. Joyce 6/17/01 |

That's why they always win...they convince us that their needs are ours. Can I send you a couple more? Perhaps you don't have one this color! |

Alas...one of the great battles. Unfortunately I can't have cats. *+*Would you be known by everybody? Then you know nobody.~ |

You'll never convince a cat that "The world does not revolve around A cat and her commands." But they are wonderful creatures and you've written a terrific poem! |

Hehe, I love it! It's the epitome of Cat =) "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. |
