As Seasons Change When winter spreads its cloak of white And graces every moonlit night, With silvered beauty and each sound Is magnified, my joys abound! I love to see each bush and tree All turned to frosty filigree. I love to walk in crunchy snow And watch the trails of ice spume blow From off the mountain tops that rise, Like mounds of ice cream, in the skies. Then when it's spring, my pleasure grows, Enjoying everything that shows It has returned from winter's fast, To green and bloom, as in the past. First flowers fill me with delight. Each one a sweet and treasured sight. I long for spring to stay but soon, The calendar says it is June. It seems this month just hurries by. Wild roses help me say good-bye! The summer sets a faster pace, For every week there is a race To do the things that must be done And still have time to soak up sun. Bright autumn enters with panache And gives the trees a little dash Of colored leaves, to show that she Intends to paint, most lavishly! As her finale dies away, I wish on stars that she would stay, But seasons change, and people too. It's time for winter to debut! This is a thrilling description of how the seasons hurry by before we have fully had time to appreciate them.. But nice to know that the one following is just as lovely in its own way. Well done. Joyce |
