a wanderer escaped from night
Is it the day that takes my hand,
or just a star that glistens?
I wonder if the time is right...
   for morning descends
Do dreams come to end in day...to run away?

Beyond the margin of the world,
clouds that unfurl a smoky grey
turn bright from light they borrow
Then come tomorrow words can't say
   that dreams don't come true
I found that they do anyway...

though day wanna run away from the night
            unfolding what may seem

Lazy morning, wake up...don't close your eyes
if the night,if night has gone away

      If you're yawning,get up...don't be unwise
       in the light
Don't call it just a day

A stranger walked the streets alone
Calling a home just where I stand
      to anyone who'll listen
I wonder if it's time to land
   for morning descends
Do dreams come to end in day...

far from nocturnal play in the light unfolding what it deems?

Lazy Morning, wake up from your lullabye
if the night,if night has gone away

      If you're yawning,get up...don't be unwise
til the light calls it just a day

Street Heart, these are beautiful, evocative words.  i will listen more closely next morning.  and try not to be unwise.  so many times i have missed the sun rise.

looks like we are both new members, though your fine voice shows that you are not new to poetry.  i am, and i look forward to hearing more of your work.

Hey,Tracie!Thank you for your welcome.Where did you get those kissing and hugging icons?
They made me laugh and then feel all fuzzy inside! It is really nice to be back. Thanks again.

Thank you,CHILI (what's your real name,huh?)
Thank you for your words.I always try to get a new perspective, try to put myself in someone else's shoes or see through someone else's eyes.I think many times we get so caught up in life that we perhaps lose sight
about what is important or what others are going through.I try every day to understand and learn.

Peace

I enjoyed this and welcome you to PiP. I look forward to reading more of your works.

Greetings, Street Heart!

This a beautiful work of artistic expression.

The opening line "a wanderer escaped from night" awakens a certain mood deep within me of movement from shadows.

I like this question, "Do dreams come to end in day...to run away?"

Oft it feels that we are -living dream- with fields, valleys, streams and hills of delightful deja vu.

Cordially,

Castlehigh of Éire

Wow! What happened?! Y'all say the nicest things! It's an old song of mine that I'd written back in '89 or '90.It has 3 key changes in it! More than any other of my songs,I think (insert scratching head smiley here).I'm really glad you liked. One of these days it should be recorded.
