Not Allowed

My granddaughters get to do things,
Their grandma never could.
Good girls didn't do those things,
But sorta wished they could.
I always was a good girl
And made my mama proud;
But there were just too many things
That simply weren't allowed.
My papa never kissed Mama
'Til they were proper wed;
For good girls didn't act that way
Is what my mama said.
I had not a single choice to
Be anything but good.
If my parents hadn't caught me,
My four big brothers would.
For Mama's sake I always was
As good as I could be,
Except perhaps, the time that I...
You won't hear that from me.
So dear granddaughters be good girls
And make your grandma proud;
And thank your lucky stars that now
More things are quite allowed.
