Just after dark, the moon arose To shed her light and strike a pose Of beauty, silver and serene And crowded round her, faintly seen, Were groups of stars who came to pay Their compliments to her display. All night she shone. There was a glow That emanated from the snow. Icicles sparkled. By the stream, The rime and frost were set a-gleam. When the westering hour came, The moon had tired of the game. "Don't go," I wanted so to call. "Oh please don't go and end it all. I haven't nearly had my fill." But she just slid behind a hill, Outlined it briefly and was gone. Some luminescence lingered on, But soon the dark reached out to take The light remaining in her wake! This is really well written. I liked the words used in here, very good word choice and it lit my imagination. *+*Would you be known by everybody? Then you know nobody.~ |
