The Wind It's been a deity and slave. A blessed God send and a knave. It is a power earth bound and Lives a constant merry-go-round. The wind blows in hot cold or fair, Strong and week or beyond declare. It has no sanction good or bad, Nor does it temper glad or sad. The wind is judgeless, week or bold And does not favor young or old. It does not feel or care, or dare. It's just supplies a force that's there. It never ever stops or sleeps Brews like a tea and ever steeps. It plays upon all living things, Much like a bell that tolls and rings. It also preys upon the bell Wears mountains down to sand and shell. It brings the clouds and blows the rain Turns earth to waste or sugar cane. It holds you close in parenthood, But only, if it's understood? |
