She’s doing what we all have done Chasing an impossible dream The chase is long and fast and hard She’s gaining ground, it seems Through the trees and through the brush She fights to touch her dream Then the clouds come and blot out Each silver moonlight beam She is still in hot pursuit Stumbling through the dark night Though she can not see a thing She won’t give up the fight All she’s ever had is this Chasing the impossible dream And now she’s so very close She’ll catch it soon, it seems Her heart pounds heavy in her chest Faster than the pounding rain She knows that she must catch it now She’ll never be this close again And when it seems that she will have To give up her brave fight A beautiful beam of light appears Penetrating the dark night There’s a clearing in the brush The girl can’t believe what she sees For there, among the dark night Shines the impossible dream She approaches slowly, hand outstretched Her fingertips barely brush The dream that she’s chased all her life Most people don’t get that much Then the dream must take its flight And the girl is alone, as before She lies face down in the mud, and cries Like she’s never cried before But these are tears of joy, not grief For she’s touched the impossible dream! The clouds move on to the east And frees the silver moonbeams The girl stands, and with more strength Than she’s ever had before She starts on the chase again To touch the dream once more < !signature--> "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde "The robbed that smiles steals something from the thief" -Shakespea [This message has been edited by LoveBug (edited 06-27-2000).] |

Her heart pounds heavy in her chest Faster than the pounding rain She knows that she must catch it now She’ll never be this close again And when it seems that she will have To give up her brave fight A beautiful beam of light appears Penetrating the dark night There’s a clearing in the brush The girl can’t believe what she sees For there, among the dark night Shines the impossible dream --------------- this is awesome LB!!!!! really well written and expressive... Congrats. This is a great poem to mark a wounderful milestone, I am glad you reached that dream, now set yourself anouther one and go catch that one to . I'll see you at 2000 . L.of.L. Tom . ( Are you really a teen ? or are you just representing us as I have always got the impression through your poetry that your are very experienced, wise person that usualy only comes with age as most of the teenagers I have met [ not all - me and my mates are very wise ] have usualy been ignorant . Sorry if you take offence at this comment, I was only currious and thought I'd ask as I usually get on well with people that are like myself . L.of.L. Tom . ( again ) .
