Musings on a Rainy Night |

Rolled the sun 'cross azure skies, Then all the light in darkness dies, Hushed the tolling, muffled bells, As ebbing of the day foretells, Advancing clouds in pending storm, Marauding spires, in towering form, Brooding silence; 'fore distant rumbling, Majesty of welkin's humbling, Air of evening; sultry balm, Gusting winds sweep 'way the calm, Lightening dancing, sword-blades thrusting, Heaven to earth in flame combusting, Torrents of a ocean squall, Across the land, doth Ares brawl. Sodden land in flood awash, As gods of heaven, moisture quash. |

Mike~ Well when it rains ... you make a parade of it ! Wonderfully descriptive ! A poetic muse came in from the rain and sought refuge in your inkwell ! I like ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

~This poem makes me appreciate the true awe and beauty of this earth. "Gusting winds sweep 'way the calm"......oh this is good. Makes you realize just how powerful "she" is. Great work. *Peace. |

Thank you all muchly for the comments. Saw some cumulus nimbus at sunset and said what the heck... sat down and mused at the keyboard and this came out... now I am going to have to mow the lawn... |

Or you can do what I did (unless you own 3 acres like Marge does!)...get rid of the grass and put down patio, stones and sand!! No more mowing the lawn for me!! Let it rain!! Wonderful poem, Mike! You can even make a rain storm sound beautiful! Denise |
