An offering to a dear friend ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I listen, O dear friend of mine, To your words that pronounce peace, Since from them emerge, a solace divine, To this soul that was broken to pieces. Tranquility, the result of a single gaze, Into this pure heart of yours, resurfaces Like a soothing breeze from the sea, A calming force, confidence reinstilled (in me) On this pinnacle of confused emotions Beholding a restless yesterday's eye, Distancing past's anguished commotions, Seeking your blessing, hitherto stand I. A guardian angel from within my dreams, Amazingly pleasant, so calm as it seems, My scarred heart for repair belongs to you, In another life, I promise to be in view. Sacred words from you have helped calm this soul, I can never repay the debt that I owe (to you), But I promise - in this life, next ones too, my goal, Will be to offer sincere regards to you, always true. An undemanding, never fading platonic love Is what I can offer to you my dear friend, That as long as there is a breeze that blows, Will set a living example, a glorious trend. ~~~ < !signature--> Death, be not proud, though some have called thee, Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so; - John Donne [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (edited 06-27-2000).] |

____________ An undemanding, never fading platonic love Is what I can offer to you my dear friend, That as long as there is a breeze that blows, Will set a living example, a glorious trend. ____________ The last verse was my favorite. This is a great testament to friendship! Beautiful Piece! --You can either take me as I am...or you can watch me as I go.-- |
