She lies there in the dark < !signature-->Somewhere nearby a dog barks She gently closes her eyes Thinking of their good-byes Only a few days had past Since they said their last She liked to make love by moonlight It was a tremendous sight Out there under the scattered stars Far away from the noise of the bar They would come here together In the warmest of weather Love by moonlight was her dream She couldn't resist the moon's beams Reflecting off the surface of the river Down her spine it sent a shiver Just the memory of his touch For her it was almost too much She awoke with a start And felt a pain in her heart This time he was gone for good He would've stayed if he could But their love wasn't meant to be Her hopes drifted out to sea Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end. --Michael W. I've had rather haunting dreams myself lately. This was sad... Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

Perhaps love born of the moon has a difficult time with the light of day? |

Well I must confess i used to do that to many moons ago and the same thing happened...the love ended. Sounds wonderful but maybe there's a lesson there ( don't make love under the moonlight, maybe it's a curse ) Thanks for the read brought back a few memories..tee hee Tracie~ Love is the life of the soul... It is the harmony of the universe |

~LW,...This IS beautifully written. Such vivid descriptions made it so easy to mentally picture. Oh, but how sad the pain. How very sad. You seem to have effected me with this piece. Please take care. We need to talk soon. We need to catch up. Take care. *Peace. [This message has been edited by SpitFire (edited 06-27-2000).] |
