Ah Yes, I Remember You Well… I cried the night I heard you died, I remember it all too well, I think the nation paused and mourned, Yes, there was even a tinkering bell… You were always a part of my life, a relation but not, like an uncle well met, a friend I knew but hadn't hugged yet, yes, a full force figure in my life. By your way of kind introduction you filled lives with much fantasy, and taught so many lessons well, you brought spaghetti romance to me. In real life and comic art, you taught how elephant mothers for their babes feel, you showered your magic in color bright and brought life from reel to real. Little did we know your life was near to done, when mine had been just a decade won, and like a kindly grandfather dear, you made all learning warm and fun. You gave me stories of early L.A., and made camping seem a breeze, when pals like Marty and Spin, had me laughing and slapping my knees. Oh I remember the popcorn summer nights, getting a drive-in speaker to work in the car, to watch a new/old movie rerun, and when a deer was the movie star. Oh yes, you made me laugh, and cry and even today, your name is still strong, so my grandkids see MY movie reruns, where Pinocchio's nose grows long. Ah Mr. Disney, you were my friend, all the many gifts you left behind, Cinderella, Dumbo, Bambi and all, their lessons never far from my mind. And though promoters still use your name, I watch for the most special of shows, that are still teaching your lessons tame, while your magnificence grows. And I can go back to the night when the sad news first came that you had left this world behind and I'll bet God greeted you when you came. ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 26 June 2000 [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 06-27-2000).] |

What a wonderful tribute. Things have changed so much since then haven't they? Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

A wonderfully glowing tribute to a wonderful man, who always gave us a reason to smile, and gather a sparkling twinkle in our eyes... Nice Work, Karilea... regards, sudhir. Death, be not proud, though some have called thee, Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so; - John Donne |
