~Broken Chains~ Amy M. Kennedy Before I met you I wasn’t really living My day consisted of going through the motions Always scared to let my feelings go Instead I bottled up my emotions Meeting you has freed my soul The chains broken at last You became the air I breathe And I was no longer haunted by memories of the past I never knew true love before our paths crossed I thought I did a time or two Never knew what it’s like to fly I soar to the heavens when I’m with you Put your hand into mine I promise to never break your heart Want to share my life with you It’s time to make a new start Together we can achieve the impossible Apart, we’ll never stand a chance Need you to know I love you completely Think perhaps I did from that first glance I know that you love me But I question do you love me as I love you When I say your name on my lips I tremble inside And now I turn and ask do you? "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." "Fate exists but it can only take you so far, Because once you're there It's up to you to make it happen." |

Amy, what a bittersweet, yet beautiful poem. I am so happy for you that you have finally broken free of those chains, a pain I know all to well. I am sure that he will answer that he is deeply in love with you, also that you're a great poet Take care, Melissa Honeybee |

Together we can achieve the impossible Apart, we’ll never stand a chance Need you to know I love you completely Think perhaps I did from that first glance I know that you love me But I question do you love me as I love you When I say your name on my lips I tremble inside And now I turn and ask do you? .... What an emotion-filled poem this is!! Beautifully written... A joy to read your poems, Amy...A real pleasure... regards, sudhir Death, be not proud, though some have called thee, Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so; - John Donne |

"I know that you love me, But I question do you love me as I love you" Thats the knife edge we run along , the pleasure and the pain that makes love worth while, you've hit the nail on the head, a wonderful piece, tenderly conveyed. Thank you Olias |

Ooooh at first I heard those chains going with a big KERCHING!!!!!!!! and then I saw just how effectively they had gone! The last stanza is what did it... very powerful! Eric. "We are the music makers and we are the makers of dreams." - Willy Wonka. |
