Where my heart is (for Judy) From Blakes "satanic mills" I come, Where industry first scarred this scepter'd Isle, Innocent of "Camberley heavy with bells", My pores seep coal and callouses of swarf, My mudded boots entrenched, in cobble stones and slag, But my heart ascends through caustic clouds cocoon, To a distant shore, 'Cross mississippi's bright ribbon, And on, through waving corns expanse, To Her, My field of Dreams, A daughter of pioneers who work the land, A son of steam and soot, So different, so alike, Our heritage of Plymouth Rock is found, Our Future to be as one. Olias~ I haven't read any of your work before so I'm guessing Welcome to Passions is in order. If not sorry for my mistake. This was a really interesting poem. It almost told like a story. Liked the refreshing and different style. Take care. amy "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." "Fate exists but it can only take you so far, Because once you're there It's up to you to make it happen." |

Thankyou for commenting, This has been the most important piece I will ever write, its very hard to have a relationship when your 5000 miles apart but I love Judy with all that I am, and we both pray that one day we will be together. Thankyou Olias |

"But my heart ascends through caustic clouds cocoon, To a distant shore," This is beautiful Olias! Wonderful imagery as you transcend the distance and move across to describe your lady love, really well done! Best wishes, /Kit |

this is wonderful writing, so many cool descritive lines and imagery. and the geographical references made it very interesting and added to your point of long distance love. "we are separated only by miles ... there is no real distance between us." DVC thank you for your wonderful reply yo my poem today as well. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. take care, jm |

What greater endearment than to be the object of a lovely poem such as this...beautiful, candid and moving, this. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
