Clay Into Art (revised) You’re extraordinary! My hackneyed vocabulary Cannot shape suitable words. Brilliantly bright yet obscure, from some long hidden mold spun down in time once and again. Chameleon comes to mind but it’s your attitude that sculpts you into art. Others would mold you or attempt to break you in hatred of all you are. You never leave, yet are always leaving, a being, standing apart. I’m only earth, a ball of clay by you, into art. © 2000 Corinne Bailey [This message has been edited by Corinne (edited 06-21-2000).] |

Well done Corinne! Very deep meanings spread over a few short verses. "I think words like 'chameleon' But it's your attitude That scuplts you into art" I really enjoyed the read - "I'm only earth. a ball of clay by you, into art." Thanks for sharing that. |

a wonderful poem Corinne. powerful. excellent wow. if you don't mind I am putting this in my library. Brilliantly bright yet obscure, From some long hidden mold Spun down in time once and again. I think words like ‘chameleon’ But it’s your attitude That sculpts you into art. I’m only earth, A ball of clay By you, into art. A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry |
