In the winds of Cherokee song

         Through Your Eyes

Through your eyes...
I see much
The depth of your soul
The secrets of your heart

Through your eyes...
I feel all
The warmth of your touch
The gentleness of your kiss

Through your eyes...
I have love
Sharing our breath
Merging our hearts

Through your eyes...
I tell all
My life given over
To my trust in you

Through your eyes...
I offer this
The respect as one
The truth in love

Through your eyes...
I give to you
The passage to me
Through my eyes

One of the first things I notice is someones eyes, if they are kind, trusting, loving, etc.
Your poem described that long, deep stare, that desire, that love between two people when they look into eachothers eyes!

So romantic and filled with tender love, Me liked it

Mark I guess I've got to say that I would like to have read "In your eyes" but maybe I am missing something here. It seeems to me that you, are analysing her through your eyes. Maybe not, the wonderful trickery of poetry. I find it very very good work!

ethome;  thanks for the comments and all I can say on the analyze thing is that the look is and was that brief moment when hearts are traded, but your interpretation definitely opens new avenues for discussion on what different people see in the same mask.

It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
(How one move just puts me by myself)
There you go just trusting someone else
(Now I know I put us both through hell) ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
(I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me)
And I'm not sayin
(We ever had the right to hold on)
(I just didn't wanna let you get away from me)

She says baby,
It's 3AM ... I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.

A really lovely poem.

Mark this is lovely. Please don't compare your writing to "the crowd", only to what you feel in your heart. That is what makes your poem appealing.
And it is very beautiful
