Inanimate words
On impersonal paper
Yet awesome power
To touch strangers who don't meet
Setting blaze their hearts and souls

What a truthful way to describe poetry!

It takes me lines and lines to say what I
want to say and yet in these few lines you
have said so very much!!  Perfect description
of poetry at its finest!! Well done, thank
you for sharing this~

~Kaile~

I am flattered that I inspired you to write this with my tanka about poetry, a compliment which I am shocked to receive, I don't really consider myself a talented poet like all the other amazing ones here, but thank you nonetheless.  You'll receive your check in the mail soon for that compliment LOL

I love this tanka, what a refreshing look at how poetry makes one feel and how it can bring people together with it's power!
I love the last two lines:

"to touch strangers who don't meet
setting blaze their heart and souls"

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee
