This was also part of my trip. An angry sea A devastating nausea seized at me. For the waves were ten to twelve that day. I rose and fell each heave of swell, Me the ship and the angry sea. The vessel moved with a heave and ho, There was no sane or level abode, Just a queazy sort of moving hell, That pitched and rolled from throw to throw. There was nothing on the ship that stayed. All stable turned into rubber maid And the insidious nausea took its course. Everything moved and everything swayed I laid me down on a rolling bed And said to the Gods of the sea If they would spare me just this once, I swore, land would my deathbed be. But my confidence turned a higher bend, As my nausea gently came to an end. |

I've been on the sea when it has been angry, I know what you mean. You words capture the verisimilitude of an angry nauSEA. Very well done! |

in the immortal words of Horton the Elephant.. rolling and tossing and splashed with the spray, and Horton said, day after day after day, I meant what I said, and I said what I meant, But, Oh, am I seasick! One hundred percent! Good poem... enjoyed. |

Poor you, Seymour...but how grandly you've expressed your, eh, discomfort. Very nicely writ, Matey. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Merci, Seymour~ Enjoyed the render ... but the 'sailor' in me loves the adventure on the ocean, lake, or raging river ... can't live without it. Never had a seltzer day ... YET ! Bet you'd really enjoy the white-water rafting that I do in the Carolina mountains each year ! Wahoo ! Welcome back to land ... my landlubber friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
