For Now Speak in your hushed tones, Remind me of all you are, Erase flashing future thoughts, And fully occupy my present. Don’t warn me of leaving, Let us lose ourselves for now, Abandoning with restraint, Collecting a savings account. With you, windows open wide, Airy breezes do quicken, Rest comes with simple ease, Upon a pillow of shoulder. Don’t ask what you already know, Those fears are too crushing, As dreams turn monochrome, I’ll sense you have gone. © 2000 Corinne Bailey |

The pain of break up...of a loved one leaving, you captured this perfectly. That is if I am reading the poem right. Erase flashing future thoughts, And fully occupy my present. Rest comes with simple ease, Upon a pillow of shoulder. Don’t ask what you already know, Those fears are too crushing, As dreams turn monochrome, I’ll sense you have gone. Some beautiful images mixed with sadness. There is a great sense of loss in your words. excellent poem. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Outside open mouthed crowds Pass each other as if they're drugged Down pale corridors of routine Where life falls unatoned " "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. |

As dreams turn monochrome, I’ll sense you have gone. ......... Parting is such a difficult thing to do...very well written Corinne Regards and take care, Sudhir My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out I'm feeling kind-a-shaky, my mind is full of doubt All I ever think about, is fearing fear itself, Wish I could unscrew my head and put it on the shelf Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Don't know what I'm looking at, the lights are all too bright My brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor Sweep 'em up. Throw 'em away, don't want 'em anymore Clouds race across the sky, day turns into night, Still there are the questions, no answers in sight Everything is twisted, everything is oh so tight, Starin' out the window, everything is just too bright Brain's about to crumble, spill out on the floor, Wish I could unscrew my head, and kick it out the door... You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange You know I'm feeling kind-a....Strange ~ Strange ~ Joe Satriani (Flying in a Blue Dream) |

I thought this poem was about living the moment, without worrying about the moment of departure, but your last two lines had me confused. Nevertheless a wonderful poem. Enjoyed it a lot. |

The writing comes from the heart...and the feeling from the soul. If you don't hear the words you can almost forget for a moment. Thank you for sharing this! |

Corinne, you captured those feelings very well....*sigh* Unfortunately, I can relate to your every word. "Mine" left yesterday. I am only thankful he crossed my path, even if just briefly, and too, am thankful I got to share my heart with him before he left. A remarkable experience this is. Loving someone you know will go. Makes those few tender moments seem priceless....Thank you so much for this. It has touched me deeply. |

C, this is such a cool poem so much class and grace... wisdom and heart laced in your words. I do so enjoy the way you write jm And it's good that I'm not angry, I just need to get over, I'm not angry, anymore Cry when you cry, run when you run, love when you love, represent the ashes that you leave behind ~MB20~ "What the caterpillar calls the end ... This was so heartwrenching and sad. Heartfelt emotions captured perfectly by your poetic pen. There were so many stanzas in this that were just plain awesome! I enjoying your style of writing immensly! take care. amy "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." "Fate exists but it can only take you so far, Because once you're there It's up to you to make it happen." |

So beautiful, so right on the mark, sweet poet Core. Extended Breaths You bring me to a hush with your eyes, as banished thoughts come stealing back and are awash in mine. Squeezing drops of future from my mind, I see them fall upon your cheek; they blend there with my sighs. You bear me beyond peace with your touch, as treasured beats of present fill with colors from your brush. Come hold me to this side of our day; the other side will claim its time - too soon will have its way. © RAM 6/12/00 |
