"The Night of No Goodbyes" In mist of morn, awakens she to falling floods of rain his words have poured from Heaven's roof a trickle, a fresh'ning refrain Shared syllables thrown on potter's wheel, a dizzying dared discourse 'tween maiden fair and valiant masterful knight 'pon poetic horse She breathes from deepest dreaming silks as lilac sky prevails to cling to earth's arising scents the fragrance of filling sails And as the sands of lands afar are shed from out her eyes awake she now, her drowsy head, from the night of no goodbyes Claire |

Claire, a beautiful poem filled with loss and sadness. She breathes from deepest dreaming silks as lilac sky prevails to cling to earth's arising scents the fragrance of filling sails And as the sands of lands afar are shed from out her eyes awake she now, her drowsy head, from the night of no goodbyes wonderfully written, thanks for sharing. ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. "Art is a lie which makes us realise the truth." Pablo Picasso "We Irish are too poetical to be poets, we are a nation of brilliant failures" Oscar Wilde ----- |

She breathes from deepest dreaming silks as lilac sky prevails to cling to earth's arising scents the fragrance of filling sails And as the sands of lands afar are shed from out her eyes awake she now, her drowsy head, from the night of no goodbyes ---------------- brown eyed girl is smiling welcome "home" love this poem... a different style for you... you wear it well. take care C, jm It's amazing How you make your face just like a wall How you take your heart and turn it off How I turn my head and you lose it all ... And it's unnerving (How one move just puts me by myself) There you go just trusting someone else (Now I know I put us both through hell) ... I'm not sayin That there was nothing wrong (I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me) And I'm not sayin (We ever had the right to hold on) (I just didn't wanna let you get away from me) ~MB20~ She says baby, It's 3AM ... I must be lonely, When she says baby, Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes, Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it. ~MB20~ |

I've missed your poetry greatly, Miss Meadowmuse. And you never dissapoint, and this is no exception....deeply moving, gorgeous, and sorrowful. I think I shall have to go back and read it again. Wonderful work. *Krista Knutson* "Cherish your vision; Cherish your ideals; Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts. If you remain true to them, your world will at last be built." ~James Allen~ "We've made houses for hatred...it's time we made a place where people's souls may be seen and made safe"...~Jewel~ |

Claire, As I echo most of the feelings above, I can state that I enjoyed this one immensely... Great flow, and enchanting images... ------- In mist of morn, awakens she to falling floods of rain ... awake she now, her drowsy head, from the night of no goodbyes ------ regards, sudhir Death, be not proud, though some have called thee, Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so; - John Donne |

Geir, you are far too kind...thank you.. Sven, do you think? Perhaps if you would be so kind as to share with me your observations, I may be able to comment. I see no significant difference, on my own, but could that be perhaps that it is often hardest for the writer of the words to see them objectively? Please feel free to e'mail me, as I haven't got ICQ. Olias, thank you, sincerely, for your encouraging response. Kit, I thank you for reading and letting me know. Sudhir, for the "enchanting" you have my thanks and regards, as well. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
