~In memory of My Grandma Phyllis, who passed away on June 15, 1996~ ~*GRANDMA, I MISS YOU*~ As the seasons change, Autumn breeze fades to cruel icy Winter, Spring rose petals fall, dancing mournfully to the ground as Summer heat arrives, Grandma, so was your life here on earth, I can no longer smell that old familiar aroma of Avon perfume when you embraced me in your arms, for, Grandma, you're gone, but, only for a while, you've flown to a place, where I can no longer see you, or touch you or sing with you, but I can still love you and admire you and call you my friend, that Grandma, shall never change, neither the wind nor rain could ever carry your spirit away from my heart, for you will always be my Groovy Granny, but, Grandma, I still miss you *By Melissa Phyllis Monette* aka - Melissa Honeybee |

Thank you to all for the kind replies, this was a difficult poem for me to write, even after 4 years, I still miss her like it was yesterday, she will always be an irreplaceable friend. Take care, Melissa Honeybee |

This touched me. I've been thinking about my Grandmother lately too. I do miss her. That empty space resurfaces sometimes with a vengence doesn't it? Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

Oh Melissa, I am so sorry - life just works that way ----But grandma's always are alive as long as you keep them alive. This is a beautiful and touching piece. In our family we write special things about a person so our family geneology is not just a name -- maybe you can start such a tradition. HUGS from netswan |

Gosh, I know what you mean Melissa... My grandpa died three days earlier than your grandma and the pain just surfaces with a vengeance sometimes making you cry... I'm sorry for your loss. Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |

Melissa, A beautiful tribute to a wonderful person in your life. I see you carry her name, wear it proud, like the pride and love you've shown us here! WELL DONE! Dennis :^) |
