My girlfriend has sent this poem to me in Spanish, I’m not sure if its from Columbia where she is from but its heart felt, and wanted to shear with you all. Its taken her awhile to translate to English so its not as beautiful as is in its native tongue Maybe God wants us to know the wrong persons before we know the right one so finally when we meet the right person we will realize that we should be thankful for such a gift When the door of happiness closes other door opens, but most of the time we pay so much attention to the closed door that we can't see that a new door is being open for us The best kind of friend is the one with whom you can sit on the porch and swing without saying a word, and then you can leave feeling that you have had the best conversation ever It is true that we don't know what we have until we loose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we are missing until we get it To give all your love to someone is never a guarantee that the person will love you back Don't wait for love in exchange, only wait that it grows in his heart, but if it doesn't, just feel happy that it grew in yours It takes only one minute to be with someone, one hour to like him, and one day to fall in love but it takes a whole life Don’t pay attention to the looks; they may turn out to be deceptive don’t pay attention to the money; it vanishes Look for someone who makes you smile because it only takes a smile to make a dark day become a clear one Find the one who makes yours heart smile There are moments in your life that you miss someone so much that you only want to take him in your dreams and hug him for sure Be happy enough to make yourself a sweet person, enough tests to make yourself strong, enough sorrows to keep you human, enough hope to keep you happy Put yourself in somebody else's shoes If you feel that it hurts you probably wouldn’t hurt the other person The happiest people don't necessarily own the best of everything they only know how to get the best that appears in their journey Happiness belongs to the ones who cry to those who are in pain, to those who have searched and those who have always tried, because only they know how to appreciate the people who have touched their lives Love begins with a smile it grows with a kiss and ends up with a tear You can't do well in life until you let your failures and sorrows past through your heart When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling live your life So when you die you are the one who is going to be smiling and the ones around you will be crying |

I loved this poem! It is so deep and so true.I loved the ending.. don't know if I've ever heard it put quite like that!! Gem |
