In my haunted nights of pain
      Seeking love to this disdain
      As remember
only you.

With bleeding heart of sorrow
      I turn away my tomorrow
      As I hate
only you.

Hope held out by passing hand
      In this, my darkened shadowland
      As I regret
only you.

New fires now warm my tender heart
Fires that you once chose to start
      As I forget
only you.

PdV...
      This is wonderful!! Especially the
ending, where new love replaces the
      bad taste of the old...

Poet deVine,
I'm glad that I came by to read another one of your works. So smooth, and so moving. Very nicely done.

Poet deVine,

This one was very good.  Haunting in the memory of that certain person.  Great image.  It is never easy to move on although that is what must be done at times.

The anger in this piece, was clear as glass.
This poem was well composed and well-written. I would like to see your name on this board more because I love reading poems like these... especially when they're short and compact like yours.

deVine. . .

let the fires burn away the past
and find a new love, one that will last
a love that will burn strong and true
a love that will be only for you. . .

simply inspired my friend. . .

I must thank you all most humbly for your kind words. This poem is the first 'inspired' writing I've done in some some.

Thanks!

Very well done....through the cycle from pain to love again...perhaps with these new fires lit you can play the old Platters song..Only You.....Great style to this work...enjoyed it thoroughly.
