CELEBRATION OF SENSES ... Auditory Instinct ... Savior of sightless sense, to hear melodic reflex; Our ears primed for symphony and song; Bells chiming in far distance towers; Stream's calm trickles down narrows of long; Strings in unison with voice and percussion; Think of these as your own to care; Think of these as your own to share. Aromatic Waves ... Scented memories linger longest; Without its talents, taste be gone; Spray of ocean on curled surf's break; Warm baked bread on oven top to set; Newborn's breath, come home at last; Think of these as your own to care; Think of these as your own to share. Epicurean's Elixir ... Life's finest found in wine and feast; Save shelter, basic to every soul's need; Thanksgiving's bounty all should receive; Spring water, some lips will never touch; May fruit of our lives be ever so sweet; Think of these as your own to care; Think of these as your own to share. Sensitive Skin ... Pleasure and pain, relatives not too distant; Yet extreme of one, becomes absence of the other; Lamb's wool to feel, heavenly soft; Flame holds us captive 'til the burn; Love's result, never forgotten once had; Think of these as your own to care; Think of these as your own to share. Image Complete ... Vivid in dreams and in day's wake; Entrance and exit for our souls; Peering deep into dark skies at night; Lover's gaze becomes impressions for life; From mountain top, to scope out over the world; Think of these as your own to care; Think of these as your own to share. Existence of the 6th ... When do we give thanks for the least of these; For without, we may not miss, but for granted we take; Extra sensory perceptions, long thought the 6th; Grounded in simplicity, other possibilities exist; Be aware and celebrate senses one through five; Our devotion to these, incomplete in our lives. WOW---must be the season for the poetry olympics. You are no doubt the one carrying our flag in the parade are you not. I agree with Sudhir....you have really raised the bar a few notches with this one. |
