She comes quietly from the daylight
she draws up close with fine perfume
city sounds fade out of mind
when lady love walks into the room.

She brings a spell to put you under
an old trick you can't refuse
hungry hearts beat like thunder
when lady love walks into the room.

She can glove your best endeavour
and she'll melt you with her flame
lonely souls can't find each other
when lady love plays her game.

Dream sailor score yourself a lover
the winds of time are blowing through
there's adventures to discover
when lady love walks into the room.

She's got a solid gold St. Christopher
she's from the penthouse with a view
and every eye will drift to her
when lady love walks into the room.

Bartender pour the boys a buffer
it's another highball afternoon
they just can't stay undercover
when lady love walks into the room.

She's got dancing rosy color
she's taking steps on new old shoes
so dream sailor score yourself a lover
here comes lady love into the room.

How vividly this plays in my mind...I can see her, and all those at her feet.

never say never

Thanks Paula...Juls...and Gossamer.....I appreciate your comments.....this is really supposed to be jazz lyrics....like Al Jarreau would sing...I thought it looked alright as a poem so I submitted it.

This is a really great poem, I really like this very very visual! God you're good! If I didn't like your style so much I'd be spitting tacks, but I do, so I'm just sit and admire the flow and veiw!

This is marvelous, ethome, and would lend well to jazz. What a rhythm!

Fine one and oh-so-true.  It takes guts to try to rhyme with St. Christopher!
