Rome Wasn't Built Overnight

I know there are uncertain ways that seem I can not see
But, it's only of another I found the perfect way to dream
I will take each word of yours and let it clearly shine my way
I will hear it, I will live it, throughout each new day...

To what's bigger to what's smaller what can it really stand for
Cause when it is, just what it is, it's nothing less and nothing more
And, be patient, I can hear you, your time will surely be
I can't tell you how the story goes, it's just something you must see...

To what can go through anothers mind is of something we can never know
You must not dwell to find reason just look and let it go
There isn't time long enough so we must keep moving on
And, take the words of those who've been there and carry them along...

Now, someday you'll find light if you truly try and see
How every motion, there's a reason, means the closer we will be
It's time that helps the lonely and being open makes it right
And, remember on this journey Rome wasn't built over night...

So, there may only be, just a few that see
But, someday, My Friend, more will believe
And, I sit here and say such words from the heart
It's in eternity, Girl, we're never apart...

You'll find the ways and places you'll always be given
And, before you know it, there's a new way of living
A heartache won't hurt and it can never rain
Not even that the sun will ever shine the same...

You see those mountains that stand so high ahead?
Remember that and these words I've said
It's those that see this but see more than a view
It's someday that those mountains will be handed to you...

So, search to find truth in what pulls you down
And, forgive yourself in all things found
Someday you'll close those eyes and it's strength you'll find
Cause even Rome was small and unknown at one time...

Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

Reading this poem made me think about the way you build a relationship...one step at a time...just like Rome it wasn't built overnight.   James
