A visitor whose stumbling feet have been this way before . With faltered beat plods down the street and right up to the door. Already late he hesitates is he still welcome here ? Within this room where so large loom the works of Balladeer ! How pale this humble effort must appear to practiced eyes . The ins and outs and where abouts the whos , the hows , and whys . Have all been done with such finesse my writings must appear . As scratchings in the dirt when they're compared to Balladeer's . And though of meager consequence this prattle that I write . I've not been known for common sense and yet somehow in spite . Of this short-coming I still hope with this to persevere. And someday pen a perfect ten like those of Balladeer's ! Let none dispute he is the king of this most complex form . With iambic vernacular the ramparts he does storm . And legion are his conquests as he elevates this art. Now with these words I do attest in this the final part. They say that imitation is flattery most sincere . An a"stute" observation wouldn't you say so Balladeer ? |

Sunny1, Thanks , I usually try to keep things light and hopefully entertaining , though I do have my moments . PDV , He certainly is , which is probably why I can't resist taking a few pot shots now and then . Thanks . Munda , Darn , I see I've been found out ! And I snuck in there so quietly too ! I usually sit way in the back and stay very quiet .That way Nan doesn't know I'm even there . Glad you liked . Doc |

Doc, you're certainly giving Balladeer a run for his money with this cleverly executed piece of writing. Love the fun of this. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Claire , In the east we have a saying , " many arrows are drawn to large target " ( that's east coast U.S.).Could be I'm a little envious of his writing ability ( with good reason ).Thanks for the confidence builder . Doc |

Oh this is were you are Doc....in the forest of Ballads....trying to catch a deer. Great writing Doc and a wonderful tribute ! Uhh...I am a little hesitant to ask, but should you have some spare time, would you be so kind to visit me in the Corner Pub ? I may be in great need of a Doctor by that time. Oh doc, did you ever receive the email I sent you some time ago ? The Lady is almost dying to start her new project, but is still awaiting your permission. ~Juliet Oh my goodness Doc....there's something "evil" out there ! /pip/Forum27/HTML/001605.html [This message has been edited by Lady in Red (edited 07-23-2000).] |

Juliet, I have been most remiss in not replying , my most sincere apologies . Having just reviewed what has been going on in my absence, and being rather thirsty , I will be joining you shortly. Doc |

Apparently, it's plain to see that I've been missing class To have such nice things said about me and I let them pass! Our class is filled with tons of talent by the works they do And anyone can clearly see that one of them is you!! Your "scratching in the dirt" put more than one smile on my face. Without your wit and cunning it would be a poorer place. I'm glad that you admire the little things I try to do... As far as admiration goes, I feel the same for you!!!! Thank you, Doctor. I'm honored to share the same class with you....because you ARE class. Oh, give me a home Where the buffalo roam Where the moose and the deer recite rhyme Where bees are in bonnets And beavers write sonnets That's where I will spend all my time. |
