Listening to every heart

Sounds

Soft, gentle
harp

play quiet,
not sharp

lullaby me
to my sleep

wake me gentle
from dream deep

sway me into
a wistful mood

do not allow me
to brood

soft, subtle
harp

ever so soft,
never sharp

you are the very
reason I cry

heaven help me
here I sigh…

for you were
being plucked

while on my
bridal bed
I lay

and there, a
high note struck

and my
soul’s mate
died that day….

Karilea,
Wherefrom would such a sorrow erupt? I wonder...

but a well written poem as always...

regards,
sudhir.

In one word.......... Perfection!

I truly enjoyed this treasure of a poem, and the way of it was so soft and haunting almost.  Well written!

Thank you all so much.  "Haunting" was what I was going for...apparently I did this for some of you!

Such tender passion followed ending in pain.  This was a wonderful read and I can see why Sudhir came back to it.  It does haunt ones soul.

Sudhir, Mark, thank you very much for reading and commenting.  Perhaps the "moral" behind this is that even in the sweetest of times, loss can be so immediate.

Never then hesitate to enjoy what life brings.
