©2000 Christopher & serenity 'tis the touch of kindred sight in mind unbetrayed by complacency -torn- -twisted- matching the simplistic complexities endangered by the sanctum of intelligence sanctify set me free with traces of love make me believe... belief lies only in the folds of your disbelief and as I sorrow as I weep I find a life I did not seek and sweat between the fold of knees- I wish, I wish, did not believe... belief you seek in denial's creep of steady jerks and twining lies in borrowed time galvanized by sampled rhyme I understand the reprimand... but how now do I seek reprieve? to seek a love in such strange land to dare request a god's bold hand, and in behest as all must rest... be stormed my heart in quiet lands. reprieve denied mercy untried 'pon heart unknown tattered, borne into a land of barren hands and souls of glass in meek repast seeking thorns to pry forlorn at wounds unheald 'neath pain congealed no mercy. no, I knew it not. and with a silent hangman's knot... I slipped my heart, I knew not fear, and with my yearning all my tears... I walked where love should not. and yet; love knows no bounds knows no knots save those imposed by self defile but what of laughter? Life's chagrin? I saw her, and she took me in... love; sweet serpent to behold... now I look forward growing old. old be not the grey of hair, the draw of eyes forlorn in spirit; nay, seldom smiled begets the dusk of lifetime's age tell me more, whispered, love's mage. in timeless tales told of time aged be not they whom heart-felt hold the sanctity of youth inside a soul of laughter-tears sprinkling dawn 'pon each smile-smiled to bless you with the kiss of dew... if all that is, would all I do... nay, lady faire, to kiss the dew of sunrise drops borne mornin' new an' kindly stops astride a flower to smell of life's earthen bower and taintless strife oh lady faire regrets her life. reget begets the chance "what chance?" thou queries calm why lady-heart the chance to learn to laugh to grow to dance, to kiss that dew with thine lips sweetened now with the gift the gift, I say of a heart forged from the trials of life still my trembling, then, my strife- make me believe through blackest night, and when the moon won't shine again- kiss me- I'll believe, and mend this heart inside at sacred end- kiss me; I'll begin again. a kiss- touch of hearts trembling start of love amiss a kiss a sharp intake of breath aware to find there is no lover there... to brush away clouds of despair- I've no answer found an' yet again, despair: wrought ache borne from within shelled walls encasing ; break free, o' woman of the sky free fly astride wispen clouds along the banks of bluest grande and should I dare? take your hand? I wish that I could understand... I wish...to wish these walls away... one brick hole- I'd melt away... I wish to hold you- wish to stay.. to stay is to stagnate: stagnation reeks- to hold, one must release; only to hold. to dare you must! for wonderized will hold your mind in days of aged reclusivity in thoughts of what may have been what may have been still might be to wander in such forest green- may you laugh and may I be the source of your serenity tenaciously wouldst I claim the serenity of thine heart to cling to peace though, fain wouldst I adhere for the likes of I peace is an elusivity- a wandering thought un-comprehended foreign- unknown- unreached then rest you now... I stroke your brow... I whisper to you sweet, sweet tithes... I'll kiss your tender lips until the dawning sun has neaped the tide. fain an I would see those lips rested light upon mine to touch, to taste to feel the heat kiss the light fain and I would see the love of an angel and oh my heart it would grow strings and sing as harps upon your knee. and oh would be the death of me to see this devil birthing wings... wings to fly to cherish life to breeze through tide time and tide but oh to soar through depth of lies... You my friend are my surprise/ (boo!) why the "boo" oh lady faire dost thou think a fool am I taken in by thine surprise? forgive me, lord, as I do blush... surprised I am by dawn's sweet hush... walking now to swear of Lethe... I weep I wish I might forget. then drinkest thou the waters of the Lethe to spirits heights forgets achieve fain that thou would for then this time wouldst be be likened unto soured wine but would I, could I, grasp the cup? would I savor bread of sup... oh but to hold sweet love again... if you are he, then tell me, friend... a friend I am un-common kind to bear to share hold and care an' yet thy love? tis true I find an interest plied from in the depths of interest behest a dodge to dance, a spark to fire to live to laugh ashe expired.... oh but to feel oh but to steel myself against spark of desire... and what of then the spark should burn the fires rage the rivers churn? and what of then the spark turns shade the fires die the rivers fade? and you are but a thing undone you are but the morning come if dawn is but the sun's sweet rage I wish I wish to come of age... to come of age then thou must rage at heaven's light hell's delight the sun besaged the light, uncaged for to travel time, else wrought in rhyme, fly high above to claim my love But if I could I'd paint you sweet, every word would be for me, and I would boast to all I meet, "here is my man. he's poetry..." boast not of love treasure it though inside your heart like roast of dove unmeasured love- a feast of passion's part... How can I dare return the stare of Eros, as he parts? embolden thy heart with rapturous courage thou like a lion bared of breast to challenge the skies for your heart's bequest and all I've felt should be a lie? so like the child, I wonder, "why?" tell me, I might start again... the secrets of forget again. forget thee not for what is learned is what you are the sum of life the taint of strife amalgamation of you then someone teach me how to dance teach me of myself, entranced... teach me, hold me, let me in... tell me. I'll begin again. nay not begin anew my friend you're ablaze now as you are nay not anew my friend simply be ...yourself. [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 07-19-2000).] |

Well now, I am sincerely impressed - and that isn't something that's very easily accomplished as Chris probably knows all too well already. You two give great compliment to each other's writing, and brought home the message powerfully and beautifully. Don't even think about apologizing for the length, Serenity, this just got better and better as it went along. Michael |

This is an incredible work of art, a wonder to read, and to read again. Doesn't that third verse sound a little like KG? A tribute to you to write as well as he. This is awsome, I just can't think of the words. Congratulations on this piece Liz |
