Aching Heart:: Tribute to my Grampy :(

I wrote this poem for my grandfather who passed away *December-28-99* R.I.P Grampy .. I ended up reading it at his funeral.. I feel sastified like I said my final good bye....

-Aching Heart-

My heart is heavy
My eyes are wet
My soul aches
My body sweats
I just want to hide
And shut out the world
For no one can take
This pain that I feel
I woke up this morning
And went downstairs
My mom told me the news
I burst in to tears
I always had wishes
I wished he'd get well
This morning he died
My hopes did as well
I cry so hard
And all they can say
Is he's in a better place
Where his pains gone away
Well I hope he watches over me
From the heavens so very high
And I'm glad he won't suffer
A part of me just died
Well I hope god takes care of him
And treats him with care
And I hope he knows I love him
And that in my heart, he'll always be near.

Your grandfather has good reason to be very proud of you, Amy... I have no doubt that he knows how much you loved him... This is a wonderful tribute - You're a pretty good poet, my friend - Keep the good work coming here...
