to the mouse of my discontent ... i say, "go eat cheese" why do you eat at me? like lecherous bloodsuckers the mosquitoes of my desire i plead, "go gnaw barley" why do you gnaw at me? like carnivorous flesh-eaters the piranhas of my ambitions i beg, "go nibble newspaper" why do you nibble at me? like fastidious storekeepers the watchman of my motives i implore, "go burrow a nest" why do you burrow at me? like laborious miners the diggers of my longings to the mouse of my discontent hear my request to leave me be i'll deal you in if you consent if only you'll listen to me M.A. Miller 07.17.00 < !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.
