CLARITY'S MOMENT ...

In forever's lifetime, clarity's moment seldom arrives;
Preparation readys, but quick be the strike;
Piercing armor like a thousand legion's arrows;
Without warning, realization becomes passion;
And for once, I truly believe why I am here.

Raining tears, like refreshing falls, cleansed my sight;
No ponderous plan could have so deeply schemed;
No debating thoughts from inner voices to argue;
No turning back from destiny's sure path;
And for once, I truly believe I have no choice.

Our time so swift -- so fraught with deception;
To our ends we come, decisions made by others;
Standing alone, achievements measured by account;
In this clearing instance, truth spoke its name;
And for once, I truly believe in myself.

For clarity's moment came to me in a hush;
Its appearance repeated, unlikely for many;
Its significance for one shines bright as any star;
My calling before me, let quill be my offering;
For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.

Wow, a lot of thought went into this poem--I like reading poetry with deep thoughts. Well written and well thought out. Flows well.

excellent,
exceptionally well written work here Mark..truly--
such depth of emotion.
you have captured the intensity
of the moment when we realize
poetry runs thru our souls...
when we feel it in our core...
when we know..poetry is not what we do...
it's who and what we are ...
a perfect poem to reflect you in the book.
take care wise-poet

that need to be loved this much.

This is really beautiful.  The flow and the rythm contained in this is superb.  I really enjoyed this and it leaves me in some state of reflection that is yet undefined.
