You can not have acceptance When you have expectations Dedication and faith to The ones you care about Weather Mother or Father Sister or brother Lover or a fiiend With expectations Strong bonds begin to bend Accepting what you already know Can free up your time to let Your love show Don't be angered by things You can't transform Just take them in passing Knowing "Things Never Change" Remembering good times Forgetting the bad Taking a moment To truly be glad Thinking of all those old High school friends If only we'd known then If only this was when.... Still all this time accepting it For exactly what it was It wasn't always, Just the two of us Now I'm getting closer To an endless, undying romance No expectations, or promises of love Won't ask you for much, Just a piece of your time You'll live your life I'll live mine, I think You and I....could have a good time Don't want your money Gold or diamonds rings Don't want to leave behind Any of my things Just want your company Can't stay all night Got to leave here before Morning light Be my friend and my lover Can't give you much more than that For fear that I may Have to take it back Just Accept, No Expectations Julie :) |

Very very well written! I like the content so much, I think it's great that you can be so honest in those lines and verses. Great title and I love how you tie it in with the body of the poem and then bring it to a wonderful conclusion. Also, I think you'll be quite popular looking at things from that perspective..... |
