Attached are 3 (slightly edited) poems written by my 19 year old daughter that I thought quite well done. Hope you enjoy them. (Comments are welcome) jwesley (1) A Star, So Far Away As I remember my past I see myself, happy and unsatisfied, living in the shadow of an impossible dream, blind to reality's painful scheme, hurting the ones I love, for a star, so far away… A heart, so vacant and alone, my world gone up in flames, my life, flashing before my eyes; everything I'd ever known, happiness, a loving home, was gone, tossed away, for a star, much to far away. Lisa Brooke Beard (2) Clouds Of Heaven She smiled as he took her hand. Spinning and twirling they danced all night long, locked in a trance, unable to look away, and the world disappeared as their souls became one. It had been years since their last dance, neither able to let go, their hearts united, even when parted by death. Now they begin again, a brand new start as he holds her tightly and they dance to their song. Reunited after 20 years once again they feel the warmth they had never lost, and they dance their dance, on the Clouds of Heaven. Lisa Brooke Beard (3) I Promise You I'm so sorry for the things I've done, for the pain, the sorrow, that I've caused. Consumed by false dreams, I made them reality and was blinded by the love I never received. I was vacant, empty of the love I left behind, drowing in a pool of lonliness, living in Hell, lost, wanting to go home. I'm sorry, for the anger, the disappointment, the pain, that you felt. And if I could do it all again, there's so much I'd change. I never meant to hurt, or push you away, I never meant to leave, on that horrid day. I love you, so very, very much, and I promise I'll never let you go again. Lisa Brooke Beard |
