Across the pallid darkened skies swift skiffs of cloud course along a windswept path, trailing small frozen balls of crystal moisture, that break apart while rolling haphazardly until the air around absorbs the straggling cloud remnants The sky stills in silence a lovers breath caught in anticipitation, then jaggedly, lightning pierces the night freezeframing the outlined clouds against the utter blackness of a moonless sky ingraining the picture of false light onto the forming torrents Hanging in suspension the world waits until a cold mettalic crack signifies the entry of a booming giant, crushing the air before it as the implosion of air smacks into itself, scattering in myriad directions calling the attention of all those laying before the storm Slowly the long summer grass begins to stir the light breezes lifting the humidity up into the clouds, while tree tops dance rythmically, under the guide of windborne hands all at the beckon of the coming storm which waits to eagerly envelop the land trembling before it |
