        Summer's melted ice cream
           is running down your hand....
        While building up a castle from the
           ocean's crusty sand....
        Running through the schoolyard
           when no teachers are around....
        and diving under water where there's
           not a single sound....

        Summer is cotton candy, when the
           carnival's in town....
        Swinging on the ferris wheel
           (but never upside-down!)
        Going on a picnic with the
           grown-ups everywhere....
        Then sneaking off to catch a frog
           just down the creek somewhere....

        Summer's on the back yard lawn
           looking up at all the sky....
        Wondering what it would feel like
           to flap your wings and fly?
        Hopping on your old red bike
           that you worked real hard to earn....
        Then trying to make those tires go faster
           than you thought they'd ever turn!!

        Summer is for dreamers
           she leaves an open door....
        And even though it's said,
           "you can't go back, no way, no more"....
        She's made of you a poet
           She falls into your pen....
        Then spills onto your paper
               'Summers Fancies'

          ~~~~~'Tis the End~~~~~
When life is too befuddlin'
Take time to go out spuddlin'
That's splashin' while it's puddlin'
Go barefoot in the rain.....
I love the ambience here... Nice job - I'll have to hunt down more of your work for my reading pleasure..
Sunny,
what sweet writing you have done. Your range is very impressive, from happy to sad. What a talent you are.
Sunny1~
Laughter fills the pages
with summers of delight
Sandcastles built by day
tumble in the night
Roar of oceanic thoughts
sweep over me on the shore
Summertime remembrances
I keep forevermore
*Well, sometimes ya' just spark a little inspiration !
Enjoyed plundering your thoughts.
