~you held me softly~ its days like these when I look at this blank screen in front of me and remember you and how we found each other in this tangled imaginary web of people and I remember our smiles how we teased and played and how sometimes when I cried how you held me softly while our friendship grew the minutes sometimes hours made me look forward instead of back we delved deep into hurt blackened souls and we stuck bandaids on with smiles I remember how you were strong enough for me and for you and how you held me softly when I thought I could not stand you asked me why and you listened to my reasons you helped me sort them but you never judged you helped me find the answers I needed for it was up to me to change or not and you held me softly while you helped me find a way to like me our passion rose we needed touch but found our arms to be lacking and so we held onto the dream of someday but someday became everything to me and someday never came you fell in love with another nothing we could do no backspace or delete for this one but I remember how you held me softly while I fell apart you helped me pick up the pieces my best friend you will always be we found sunshine in our fingertips again and I remember how you started to back off softly as I grew strong and now on days like these when I know really know that you are gone you needed to slip out of the tangles the call of real life took you from the imaginary I know you weaned me softly because you felt the need to go but on days like these I still miss you don’t you know? So tender and soft...I can think of several times when I should have settled for a friendship but I kept pushing for more...and in the end it was not successful...I brought pain upon myself and later realized we should have never went past a friendship.. if only I could settle for the beauty of a friendship as you have...James |

I always thought it would be impossible for me to pick out a favorite of yours because they are all so beautifully done. I was wrong. Regardless of all the wonderous poetry I am sure you will write in the future, this is the one that will first come to mind.......this is the one. |

hey you! it's just a leave of absence.... remember? this one is written straight from the heart... but i have a feeling this isn't a "final goodbye" the one thing i love about your writing, corazon, is your honesty and openness... i might try that myself one day... LOL |

Corazon...... I love the way you wrote this. Everything about it strikes the heart, especially if familiarity is a personal one. Thank you for writing this, it helps remind me that to love, is to let go....... My heart is an open book ....take a look.... |

In the dead of night and dreams there is no comment I can make that you haven't already said, bar one, the laughter will always live on and they, will miss out on the softness, the closeness that you spoke of... Smile softly my friend the ache will die but your dreams will live on.. HUSG |

Wow, Corazon! You know (at least you should) how much I love your work. This one is outstanding in every way. The tender way the couple came together, the tender way they let each other go. Beautifully done! It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Henley |

This is outstanding, Corazon! A brilliant summary... written by a woman wise enough to embrace what was gained and enjoy those memories of happiness... even while acknowledging the pain of not getting what you wanted. *S* Beautiful! |

Friendship going both ways is great but love going one way is sad. You captured my attention from beginning to end. I can tell from the tender hearted words that you are going to make a wonderful companion for some one. Happens when you least expect it....BANG! right in the heart. Well written mood in this poem thanks for sharing your deep feelings it's always good to let it all out.....ethome |
