Tears don't really have to hurt
they even tickle on your face
they remind you of the struggle
you weren’t aware had taken place

But tears
   they are pain’s seekers
tendering away
   your hiding spaces
and lifting fear before you

Tears can soothe old memories
one might laugh then one might yell
tears are what emotion makes
so not e'er a shallow well

But tears
  they loudly sing
to the fore
  they spirit
truth and memory unwanted

Tears can be a beauty mark
and remove the frivolity
a lonely hearts heavy sigh
and a divine such quality

But tears
  they river-line
mar the face
  and to our lives
ode sorrow-sighs

Tears I think are raindrops fallen
from little gods that walk the earth
tears can be what make the man
and tears can mold his worth

But tears
  defeat concede
a shine of hope
  dispelled
through weakened eyes

Tears can appear unbiased
tasting tears undecided
but oh alas for the tears
of the poor unrequited

Yet tears
  can shatter clouds
lift the lies
  born from denial

yes
   it takes courage inside

Ah, I see we both have cried

Walt and Kamla - yanno, that has a nice ring to it.  This is a terrific collaboration.  You two really did a nice job with this.  I like the shift from one stlye to the next and then back again as the verses progress.  I also like the mixing of the free verse with the rhyming verse.  You two work so well together.

psst, Walt - buy a ticket for New Z.  A man would be a fool not to travel half way around the world just to meet her.

amazing work indeed...

I only wonder what superb Joint Work-Out it may have been that resulted in such a wonderful poem... LOL ....

Wow - what a powerful piece you two have collaborated on...  This is great!  it reaches into the depths of the soul - touches the well of tears at their creation - even serves to soothe and cleanse as tears can at times...  Nothing "marring" about that.

Wonderful work you guys,

Michael

Walt and Kamla~

An exquisite work of poetic measure.
Really a fine, fine piece.
The blending of thoughts and styles
is quite pleasing.

This is terrific! An unlikely coupling, I would think, and you two have created an excellent poem and blended two uniques styles together very smoothly. I am very impressed....

Tears! tears! tears!
In the night, in solitude, tears,
on the white shore dripping, dripping, suck'd in the sand,
Tears, not a star shining, all dark and desolate,
Moist tears from the eyes of a muffled head;
O who is that ghost? that form in the dark, with tears?
What shapeless lump is that, bent, crouch'd there on the sand?
Streaming tears, sobbing tears, throes, choked with  wild cries;
O storm, embodied, rising, careering with swift steps along the beach!
O wild and dismal night storm, with wind- O then the unloosen'd ocean,
Of tears! tears! tears!

Unusual subject for a joint venture.
Very well done however. Very well done.

Walt and Kamla, this is quite simply beautiful.  Walt told me to be on the lookout for this one, but I never expected this, the way the perspectives shift, the differing views, and the perfect summation line.  I, too, hope this one makes it.
