When Strangers Meet

Remembering that first awkward moment
sitting across from you...
Me, rarely looking up
as your eyes kept seeking mine.
Every so often, catching each,
making me cast mine down again.

Was it shyness that made me blush?
(feeling the heat of your gaze)
Couldn't be the words escaping your lips in
response to mine...
but rather the knowledge that a stranger
was viewing me so intently,
knowing more, than I knew of myself.

Excusing yourself for a few moments,
left me in thought...
I had been rambling on nervously,
never realizing
that your dessert was finished
and mine barely begun.
You returned shortly
but our time together was up.

We left each...learning
only that, which we allowed to be exposed.
Not enough for me...
How about you?

This captures the hidden innocence of that very special moment that we never want to let go of.  Well done and again welcome to Passions

First meetings are wonderful.....no past to
deal with, nothing but RIGHT NOW   sometimes
I wish we could re-live that first moment
a few more times!!

Totally captures the excitement/awkwardness of learning someone.
