My heart beats heavy with longing I painfully watch each new day dawning Knowing it is another day of pain To watch my wishes die in vain I want to sit down beside you And show that my feelings are true But you are away, in a distant place Denying me of your endless grace So I sit here by myself and sigh Looking for reasons not to die The thought that I may see you again Is the only one that fuels my pen I look in the mirror and all I see Is a future with none but me Apart from the girl I once gave chase Unable to see her radiant face So I whittle the days away, alone Longing to see the beauty I've known |

well done. you've put your emotions into a very good rhyme and rhythm. i liked it. and on a more advisory note, i've been there and trust me. she ain't worth it. "The bar is always open and the time is always right. If god's word goes unspoken, then the music plays all night." -Bradley Nowell |

Mistikman...... "My heart beats heavy with longing.." This is a beautiful, sad piece, and touches the heart. I hope you find happiness with someone who truly appreciates your talent... My heart is an open book ....take a look.... |

Good to see you again, buddy! ![]() I can relate to this poem extremely well, as you know. It is wonderfully written, and you describe the situation perfectly. My only advice is this: don't spend all of your time trying to forget, because it won't work. Just let the wound heal on it's own. But remember, you will always bear the scar... great peice I too can relate... all cuts heal, and most leave a mark, the mark is there to remind us what we went through. Forgetting is not the answer, remembering is. Remember the good times, remember why you loved her, but also remember why it's over. There will be another. |

Ethan_Halo- Well, she would be worth it to me, if it ever had a chance to begin with...... sigh.... long story. Sunny1- As do I, thank you. LoveBug- Gee, how familiar that advice sounds ![]() Martini- Yes, but it is rather hard to resist the urge to pick at the scabs, eh? serenity- And thank you ![]() Poet deVine- Ahh, indeed. The urge to write has been weak lately, plus I am on the go almost all day every day. I have myself a job, plus I am working out daily, and I have already started college. I seem to be lacking a social life though, heh. I guess these are usual post-graduation woes though, and I will make new friends in the fall when I start college full time. You have me on yer ICQ list I hope, just drop me a message sometime when im on, im never invis. |

I think maybe the girl was unattainable and so that made the desire worse? As the song sung by the McKinleys go "She aint the girl for you"... Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |
