Have you ever really looked at the clouds? Hanging there in the sky, floating above? Wondering where they come from, where they go? I know that I have, laying on this hill I used to see different shapes in my mind This one looked like a dog, that one a cat We used to make up stories about them Grand, epic tales of knights, damsels, and love Oh the times we used to have together Here on this hill, telling our love's story We would meet here together every day Except when the weather got really bad Sitting here, just watching the clouds go by Talking about what our lives would be like Not really knowing what fate had in store Day by day, year after year, here we'd meet Laughing and talking, crying and sharing Becoming as close as two hearts could be Holding hands through good times and through bad Hoping these moments would last forever I still remember like it was today The clouds, big and fluffy in the sky Began to weave their magical tale I watched, amazed at the story they told Waiting for you, wondering where you were The show ended, the moon began to rise But it wasn't just the same without you You were what made watching the show worthwhile Our hands joined together, our hearts as one Together forever, watching the clouds Walking in the door, they told me you'd gone Tears began to flow from my quiet eyes There was nothing that would comfort my pain The next few days were a blur in my mind How I got through them I will never know Now, I'm back here to watch the clouds go by To watch the show again like we used to Something different about the clouds today As they move I can feel your hand in mine Look at the clouds today. . . they look like. . . you. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Blank verse is unrhymed, and has five major stresses or accents in each line. . . ten syllables. . . It began in the late sixteenth century when English poets began to write in this ten syllable line influenced by unrhymed Italian poems, with a "blank" (unrhymed) word at the end of each line. Blank verse seems to be inseperable from story-telling. . . in fact, it's hard to think of examples that don't tell stories. . . -------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

This is a wonderful form of blank verse and a great story!!!!! There is nothing in world as good as remembering good times, particulary with someone who meant and prabably still does mean, so much. My vote for sure! Marina It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen Marina Crossley |

Hi Sven ... I love clouds as subject matter and you've done a great job here with your piece ... One needs to focus and read it twice ... Love this line ... We used to make up stories about them Grand, epic tales of knights, damsels, and love Oh the times we used to have together Here on this hill, telling our love's story |

Sigh ... beautifully written Sven "they look like you" ... it's amazing how our fantasies weave just what we wish them to be ... nicely penned! Best wishes, /Kit |
