In my mind...I'm on a journey. In some distant land, where water flows. The crashing waves, tumble all around me. And gentle breezes all around me blows. In the dying sun, the water glistens. Like diamonds on, a bejeweled crown. I lie on sand, as white as cotton. It's paradise that I have found. But I'm alone with just a memory, of bygone days, like sweet, sweet wine. When each new day, brought new awakeness, And thoughts of you filled up my mind. I gaze at stars, in the heavens shining, and wonder where it all went wrong. That gentle breeze, now makes me shiver, and the birds near by, have lost their song. Wish I could never end this journey. But, I know I must go home. I'm going to leave, behind your memory, to be free of you, where ever I roam. I look once more at the land I'm leaving. The wind whispers, a sad goodbye. The crashing waves says not to worry, We'll wash away all the tears you cried. I'm once again, back in my bedroom. That distant land left far behind. Now I know, I can't escape you. You're still with me, you're on my mind! If you can't make it so, you need to let it go! |

Time does eventually heal the wounds but the memories come back to haunt us once in awhile. This was truely lovely and I enjoyed it much. Great imagery; I actually could see the land weeping with you. |

Mark, you sure do make me feel good with your comments! Thank you sincerely. We all have our 'journeys' and we all have to eventually come home, don't we?? If you can't make it so, you need to let it go! |

awesome, truly awesome. i love this! it lures you in with a deceptive title and it reveals, bit by bit, what happens next. very beautiful, both the composition and the imagery. I look once more at the land I'm leaving. The wind whispers, a sad goodbye. The crashing waves says not to worry, We'll wash away all the tears you cried. that was my fav part. again, well done. We all got our demons. We all got somethin' to atone for. |

Kitty, Perhaps a loss, but a gain with the writing that I have just read. This was great. I believe that most of us have this loss, but by reading about others, the loss hurts much less. |

Ethan_Halo..Thank you for reading this. That was my fav. verse too, but I wonder sometimes if I am the one doing the writing. Seldom do I come up with something that could be considered good. Glad you enjoyed it.. ;-) If you can't make it so, you need to let it go! |

Bill Charles...My release from pain, hurt, loss, etc. is in my writings! I am fortunate to have that available to me, because some people can't find a release, and that is so sad. We all have been ther and done that, but it takes courage to keeping walking foward. Thank you for your very kind words! If you can't make it so, you need to let it go! |
