I sat and stared
Feeling competely out of control
I sat and hoped
For the news to be good

He came through the door
The one I had watched for so long
And the look his face beared
Left no hope at all

As he said the words
That I had dreaded so long
I felt my soul leave my body
As if I was not even there at all

He told me his thoughts were correct
That there was nothing more we could do
He said he was sorry
But it's best if this is the ned

I couldn't hear anymore
I felt the tars beginning to rush
I ran out the door
And straight to him

He looked at me with such hope
His brown eyes bright
How could he seem so calm
When his pain was so strong

I touched his head
He moved closer to me
I told him not to worry
He would find a better place

And as he slowly drifted from me
And I said my final good-bye
He closed his Big Brown eyes
And died in my arms

This really made me cry.  I went through this with my grandmother and it hits home hard.  My prayers for you and your lost one.

Wow... such a powerful poem.  It brought tears to my eyes.  My prayers are with you.

Out of longing great wonders have been willed
They're only little tears, darling, let them spill" Nick
