I look into the mirror, Appalled at what I see. At what effect the hand of time- Has cruelly wrought on me. Gone the tall young cowboy- They said had sex appeal… That look of age, and weariness- Reflects the way I feel. But they say that is the way it goes. They tell me that is life. To watch your children grow and go, With, or without your wife. They say the longer that you live, The more your worry grows… All I can say is, “God forbid”! But that’s the way it goes. Do I have a purpose? And do I have a plan? In writing down these morbid lines- With an arthiritic hand? With time being so precious- Don’t waste it, I suppose. Yup , sure can relate . Though I may only be "middle-aged" , the only things that're moving fast without complaining are time and my wits ,( and I'm not too sure about the second one ). Great poem ! Doc |

The time sure does go much too quickly. There have been a few days when I felt exactly like that...but then I remember what my Dad used to say..."anyday you wake up breathing, it's a good day!"...that always makes me chuckle and brightens my mood! Great writing, John. Very expressive of that blue mood. Denise |
