Your love has touched my heart
like the morning sun
alighting on a poppy-strewn hillside.
Tenderly bathing the top in amber,
then cascading down, a golden fire
igniting in its wake.
Filling my soul with the joy
of its brilliant warmth.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.
