If you've ever lost a father.. or never knew yours. You'll relate to my story. I looked for my father for years. Last time I saw him I was 10 years old. Next time I saw him he was dead. He told his friends he had no children, no daughters. They were pretty surpised to see me and my two sisters show up. Took me a year.. to get the truth out. so here it is........xoxoxo (it's really a song but thought you might like to hear it) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Do you remember me? or wonder where I am? In your memory do you touch my hand..? Pass me on the street without a second glance walk right out of my life and never look back? Do you remember me? when I was just a child rock me gently perchance to dream awhile You were there, and I was there and one day you were gone won't you tell my daddy did I do somethin' wrong? If you remember me after all these years would you hold me tight and wipe away the tears? would you even know me if I walked right in would you turn to me and say how long has it been? Do you remember me....... ....................??? (sigh) |

Tears make it difficult to reply to this... I understand all to well how this feels, mine left when I was four and he was kept a secret from me till I was 16, I tried to find him but when I did I found that he had died only weeks before. Your words bring back the feelings so acutely I'm so sorry you had this in your life and hope that sharing it heals the pain~ |

Powerful words my friend. That must have been so hard to be denied by him and then denied the chance to know him too. My heart goes out to you. Cannot relate first hand, but this was a great poem. Bet it is an awesome tearjerking song. Wonderful. LW Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. --William Wordsworth |

Kay-Lynn, You know I know! And you know how I feel about this song and these words. I cannot express the jolt this piece hits you with. Just know m'friend that this one is very special, if for no other reason but the healing that went along with it. As I finish this reply the tears are starting once again. I know the pain it took to write this and the nervous feeling of posting it here for all the world to see. But as I said before, these words need and deserve to be heard. Now, go rest your weary heart for a while m'friend. Always, Jeffrey |

I cannot relate to this song by fatherhood but i can from motherhood. I lost my mother when i was eight years old and i had felt an emptiness inside of me until I began to forgive her....I hope you have overcome at least a small portion of your pain...my heart goes out to you... Blessed Be, Beth |

This is such a sad piece and to have to have lived this is a true sorrow. My heart goes out to you and all those who share your pain. Thought you should know that this prompted me to call my children just to tell them I loved them before I came back and replied to this. THANK YOU for reminding me what a parent is really about. |

I have some understanding of how you might feel as a very special person in my life has experiened this situation first hand as well. It is my hope that your pain will heal and that your doubts fade with the passsage of time.< !signature--> God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown [This message has been edited by EagleOne (edited 07-07-2000).] |

Redwriter. Of course he does. It is generally children who sort of grow up and have children. It is sad when they go in denial, but sometimes things happen to a person to make them to turn to desperation to shut it out. But, it is always there. I found out when I was ten that my daddy wasn't my daddy. My heart broke in two. Always, did wonder why he loved my sister best. NOW years later I have found my REAL blood father. and I still call my long ago father who I called dad who died when I was 18. DADDY -------my new dad can't take his place, though he is a dapper old gent. No way, regardless of who the blood ties are --daddy was my daddy ------- And, to you, regardless of what paths your father chose - you are his daughter. My sister had a break down and had six kids she tried to give them all away to strangers. She has had lots of mental help, and sometimes, remembers she has kids. But 5 years ago, had you asked her if she had kids, she would have said, no I don't have any. So, all I can say is sometimes this stuff happens. Love those that were your mentors, for blood is not thicker than water. HUGS, Teresa Great Song, poem very touching ~netswan |

Oh this poem hits deep, I feel the pain in this. Thanks for sharing a very sad but beautifully written piece "The stars will explode in the sky O but they don't, do they? Stars have their moment and then they die" Nick Cave |

netswan... Thank you for the kind words. It doesn't hurt near as bad as it did that day 3 years ago. Also, writing it down helped immensely. Wish all daddy's would realize how much their children miss them. Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |

I have gone through this...for myself and now with my own children. My dad left when I was four and i have never given up the dream that he is just around the corner. Now my own two boys, although they are older, face the pain of a father who shows up in their lives when he wants to hurt me. The pain we infict on our kids...wont we ever learn? |

Let's just hope the mom's out there realize how important dad's our to their children. They are NOT disposal. Men our important to all children, as flawed as they may be, we're all flawed. That why God created Love. So we could all love each other, flawed as we may be. Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |

This is a very heart wrenching piece, and the responses in addition are just as poignant. When you write from your heart, the response is amazing. Look at all the hearts you have touched, and mine also, who never had such an experience. God bless your heart Liz |

Yes of course you father remembers you. He may not beside you. Look inside of you and see what you remember than emil me and tell me what you remember of him. I lost my dad of colon cancer I know your sad and you miss him. But you'll always miss him, the pain on the other hand will start going away slowly because you still remember everything thing about him. Remember he's in a better place and watching over you and he'll always be in your heart and soul. Keep writing heres my email [email protected] keep ((Peace out)) ~*~Fairy Princess~*~ |

I remember many things about him, and thought of him for years when he was alive and I couldn't find him. It's obvious, he didn't want to remember me, this is just a child's wish. (sigh) Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |
